Teachers involved in the project make research studies on Greek legends, myths and  possibilities of eTwinning system . They introduced the methodology of digital storytelling and flash-meeting. The art team worked scenes and moments in the style of ancient vases (free techniques) and prepared pieces of relief made by clay, depicting different moments and heroes of the actual story.

School in Tunceli – Goktepe Ilkogretim Okulu

Tunceli is in the East Anatolian Region of  Turkey. It is a small city far from Ankara, the capital city of Turkey. The rate of immigration is high because of unemployment. Most people struggle with farming. Most of our students have serious economic problems and  special needs. Our school is a public school ,so the economic opportunity of  the school is also limited.

Our school is a small village primary school with the students having disadvantageous socio- economic background.By means of this partnership,we will get an advantage for effective communication in an  European context. It will be more helpful for our students and our staff. We would like to learn different cultures and people in their natural surroundings. This project will give our children a chance to study in a scientific way and show their skills in a communicative atmosphere.

School in Zlotoria – Szkola Podstawowa

The Primary School in Zlotoria is situated in Poland in the north- east part of the country in the region Podlasie. Our school is placed in the small village called Zlotoria, around 15 kilometres from Bialystok and 200 kilometres from Warsaw, the capital of Poland.  We have only  60 students at our school. The rate of unemployment is about 14%. The fathers of the families in order to find better opportunities and jobs go to work in the capital or go abroad. They come back at the weekends or even only during some holidays. Some children grow up not in the whole family. Some children at our school come from disadvantageous socio-economic background. Our school is a public school ,so the economic opportunity of  the school is also limited. Our students come from rural area, so we face with some specific needs from them.

They don’t have the opportunity to study languages besides lessons at school and the small library doesn’t contain a lot of books to develop reading skills. However, there is a beautiful surrondings around us, the river Narew and many national park. Every year new tourists come to visit our beautiful region, that’s why the staff work cooperatively with the parents and try give children the possibility to study foreign languages and show how important to know the culture of other European citizens.

As our school is a small village primary school with the students and didn’t have the opportunity in the past to participate in the European projects and use languages in the real context of knowing other cultures and traditions. This project will help our students to:

- learn other languages and rise their motivation to discuss, read, write in other languages, especially in English,

- know better the culture and tradition of European countries,

- read books and short stories in the original form,

- learn making presentations, using the Internet to communicate and recording the voice

- develop art skill during producing illustrations or some art papers.

The participation in this project will involve parents and the local society. What is more, lessons will be more interesting and students like interesting lessons.

The Primary School in Zlotoria has finished the first part of the realization of Comenius project

Time has to do himself, that runs very fast, because not so far ago we started the realization of the first part of the project connected with Odysseus’s wanderings , and today we want to present the results of our work.

The pupils from our school have been realizing, with a great engagement, the first part of Odysseus’s wanderings for three months. Children together with teachers made the ancient vases. The first of them presented Odysseus going out on his ship to his home town, Ithaka, and on the second children painted the Trojan horse, thanks to which the Troy was conquered by the Greeks.

The Comenius project gave us the opportunity to know the ancient philosophy. And it happened so thanks to the answering on ten philosophical questions which our partner school from Hungary sent us.  The questions together with the answers were translated into English language.

It is worth taking a part in Comenius project! You can not only polish foreign languages, but also know many great people, debunk the stereotypes, learn group working and above all you can live through the unforgetful adventure of learning the world.

School in Chiscani – Scola cu Clasele I-VIII.

Our school is situated at fifteen kilometres from Braila, on the left side of the Danube but it is disadvantageous and inadequate physically. There is not enough place for the students to do social activities. Our students come from rural area, so we face with some specific needs from them. Their interest in reading and using IT is low Being a rural aria , a disadvantageous socio-economic background, the number of unemployers are higher ,and more of our students’ parents travel abroad for working. But all the staff work cooperatively with the parents and we are trying to improve the education level of our school.

One of the reasons why we want to take part in such a project is that our school hasn’t participated in a European cooperative activity. As we are participating in this project we want to experience an international activity and to help our staff and our students improve their international and intercultural knowledge. We also want to introduce our school, our city, our country and our culture to the other nations. Besides we are going to have a chance to learn about other cultures and European values. In addition we want to make our students conscious about the global peace and the tolerance among difference cultures and nations. Participation in a project helps teachers and pupils to understand and appreciate different views and opinions. We hope that our participation leads the change in attitude of teachers towards the use of interactive methods of teaching compared to the traditional methods and our students will become competent IT users .Not at least ,this project opens up the horizons of the parents, of the participating pupils and teachers, to the diversity and similarities within our common European heritage.

School in Szigetbecse – SZMKIKIFT

Szigetbecse is a small city about 60 kms from Budapest, the capital of Hungary. Social circumstances in the area are general. The rate of unemployment is about 5 %. There are lots of mobile workers here, especially heads of families (fathers), in order to find better opportunities and jobs in the surroundings or in the capital. 16 % of our children come from disadvantageous socio-economic background, 20 % of them are children with special needs.

az-iskola-elottkicsiThe primary school participating in the project belongs to a federation of educational institutes containing 2 kindergartens, 2 primary schools and 1 library. All of them operate with different staff, different pupils in different cities. They have the same identification number, even they are different institutes, identified by different codes of location (partner data, code of location). The associated structure helps to solve financial problems of the institutes belong to it, but causes operational problems sometimes. In spite of these difficulties, the federation is very active in participating in proposals and cooperation involving the level of education, but none of them have participated in international partnerships so far. This institute hands only one application form for COMENIUS partnership, but may occur other applications from the federation, with the same identification number.

az-iskolabankicsi2We are a small primary school with lots of children having disadvantageous socio-economic background. We would like to try out ourselves in an European context. We would like to encourage not only our students, but also our staff to take part in European and cross-cultural activities. This partnership promotes our children and stuff to become more open-minded, helps to become more tolerant for human relations. The ongoing work develops teachers’ communication skills in a foreign language, and their competence and confidence in using ICT. They also learn to take decisions in a more effective and responsible way. We would like to coordinate the ongoing work with the help of our associated partner MOSTart NGO having great experiences in international cooperation, in order to learn project management and priorities of European context, and try to lead partnerships even independently in our next projects. The topic of the project also contributes to develop our entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation.
