Odyssey Projekt in Hungary

It is beautiful…

Our guest from the Romanian, Polish and Turkish school arrived in Szigetbecse at the end of October. They could visit the buildings, sights and the past of Ráckeve and Szigetbese and we travelled to our capital city on a Tuesday afternoon.

Travelling by public transport was a big fun. We went to the Buda castle, Matthias-church, Fishermen’s Bastille and we travelled by funicular railway. We finished the day with a boat trip on the river Danube, where we could listen to Budapest’s history and the background stories of the sights. Our guests had been charmed by the breeze of the Danube and the lights of the palace and bridges.

On the next morning we travelled by bus to Szentendre, and we played among the monuments of the Skanzen. The Hungarian history would have changed, if the battle of Mohács had happened in the same way.

The streets of Szentendre, the beach of the Danube, the Margit Kovács Museum, and the Sweets Museum contributed to get a lot of beautiful memories.

At sunset we started to sing. We taught them “It is beautiful” – witch is a Hungarian song – and they wrote it with phonetic letters. Then the Romanian and Turkish team sang.

I hope, we, our school, and country gave a good impression.
